Conditioning

  • Protein Conditioners
    • Protein conditioners are primarily used to help strengthen and rebuild damaged hair.
    • The primary ingredients in these types of conditioners include: keratin, hydrolyzed proteins, milk proteins, wheat protein, stearic acid, and cetyl alcohol.
    • Protein conditioners are great to use as a preventative or corrective treatment on a regular basis.
    • We recommend adding deep conditioning protein treatments into your hair care system 2x’s per month
    • Beware not to over use protein conditioners as this can cause the hair to become brittle and dry.
  • Leave-in Conditioners
    • Leave-in conditioners are primarily water based conditioners that contain detangling properties, nourishment, and styling maintenance.
    • The primary ingredients in these types of conditioners include: amodimethicone, PEG 40, dimethicone, glycerin, panthenol, and sorbitol
    • Leave-in conditioners are an excellent addition to your hair system to use on a regular basis.
    • We recommend adding leave-in conditioners as a core step in your hair care system. Since most leave-in conditioners provide superior detangling and nourishing benefits, it will assist you in your length retention goals.
    • Leave –in conditioners reduce breakage when used to handle hair when wet.
    • Leave-in conditioners can also be used as a conditioning mist during the day to maintain proper moisture levels and prevent dryness.
  • Moisturizing Conditioners
    • Moisturizing conditioners are primarily used to soften, smooth, and dehydrate the hair.
    • The primary ingredients in these types of conditioners include: silicone, panthenol, glycerin, dimethicone, essential oils, herbs, and natural oils
    • Moisturizing conditioners are great to use as an ongoing preventative and corrective hair treatment.
    • Since African-American women tend to have dry hair, deep conditioning moisture treatments are essential to length retention.
    • We recommend adding deep conditioning moisture treatments to your hair care system 2x’s per month.
    • Beware not to over use moisturizing treatments as this can make the hair weak, and prone to breakage.
  • Hot oil Treatment
    • Hot oil treatments are primarily used a special moisture treatment prior to cleansing the hair.
    • The primary ingredients in a hot oil treatment include special blends of the following: olive oil, castor oil, jojoba oil, almond oil essential oils, and specialized herbs.
