    • Common active ingredients in sunscreen include: titanium dioxide, oxybenzone, and zinc oxide
  • Benefits of Sunscreen
    • Helps protects against sun damage
    • Helps protects against skin cancer
    • Helps protects against dark spots/age spots
    • Helps protect against aging/wrinkling of the skin
  • Which Ones to Use
    • Regardless of skin color, all people need protection from the sun, even African-American women.
    • Although the melanin in your skin provides additional protection from the sun, you still require sunscreen to maintain healthy skin.
    • Most moisturizers include an SPF protection of a minimum of 15 which is sufficient protection for African-American skin.
    • If your moisturizer does not include SPF protection, be sure to add it as a final step of your skin care system before applying make-up.
