  • Causes of Acne
    • Hormones play a big part in acne breakouts. As women get closer to their monthly cycle, they may find that no matter what they do, they always get that one pimple. You will also find this similar pattern in adolescent youth, as they are going through puberty. The hormonal changes in the body causes acne flare-ups.
    • Heredity also plays a large part in acne breakouts.  Although you cannot do anything about the family you were born into, there are still wonderful  over the counter, and prescription formulas that can assist you in your skin care goals.
  • Acne Prevention/Treatment (normal/moderate cases)
    • Great skin begins with consistent use of a proper skin care regimen to meet your needs.
    • To prevent/treat acne, please select product that include: skin peels, glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide, retin-A, salicylic acid.
    • Glycolic peels and alpha hydroxy treatments can also be used to treat acne marks and scars.
    • A healthy lifestyle also plays a big part in this as well. This includes the reduction of processed foods, increased water intake, eliminated of drugs and alcohol, and consistent exercise.
    • If you are experiencing severe acne breakouts, please seek the advise of your medical/dermatology physician to provide guidance on the proper skin care regimen to meet your needs.
